They kept saying the work would continue and the cuts may not come as long as we worked hard and met goals. The goal line kept moving though and the cuts continued. Finally we got cut too. So much for trying to realize some reward for working hard and meeting goals. If I were still working there I would advise everyone else to just give them your required time. Don’t break your back and don’t believe their fake promises. The FTW director was the number one spinner of the yarn, trying to get us to “stay positive and do a good job to save your position and bring back the furloughed”...

My job description includes spreading info about the Ponzi Scheme known as Union Pacific. And I’m working 12 and claiming all 3 sets of minutes doing it.
Just do your job sounds like a union war cry.
There are definitely shops closing, furloughs, dismissals, resignations, and people's lives being ruined all around due to the current workforce reductions being carried out under the auspices of PSR. This says nothing of those left to carry the burden of the leftover work (without additional pay or benefits, incidentally), and the life-crushing stress they have to cope with as a result.
"Just do ur job" doesn't quite cut under such circumstances.
