This weekend the House of Mouse (DIS) put a new spin on under promise/over deliver with their latest three-hour long Avengers movie. If IBM would just do less on empty over-hype and more on delivery, we would not be in this mess. Looking at you Ginni Rometty.

Dear Ms. Rometty: There is no distinction in wanting to be #1.
Most markets have a gorilla who enjoys the most success. There are a couple of challengers - and then the rest. History will record: you enabled competitors to be #1 by having IBM stalwartly be a member of the rest category, everywhere.
Enjoy your bonus this year. Amazon, Google and Microsoft appreciate your efforts.
The thing is, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google also want to be #1 and they are bigger and smarter and more nimble. IBM is toast.
Ginni is too busy with being #1:
“IBM will become the world’s #1 hybrid cloud provider, offering companies the only open cloud solution that will unlock the full value of the cloud for their businesses.”
"Chapter two is about the hard stuff. It’s about scaling AI and creating hybrid clouds. It’s about bringing the cloud operating model to all those mission-critical apps and enabling customers to manage data, workloads, and apps and move them between multiple clouds. This is a trillion dollar opportunity and IBM intends to be #1."
