I don’t think we need managers in .org. At least they should have 12 to 15 reports to be a manager.

I don’t think company need managers . Most of managers don’t have any management skill and people skills. They work less than a normal engg and paid more. Higher managemt need to think about flat model. They need to eliminate SrManagers to start with.
Don't need NAE SR managers. Give one guy a supervisor title and load him with 50- 90 engineers

In reality, the MP does the majority of the heavy lifting, and the sr mgr position is dead weight. They are paid between $100k and $130k, with some eclipsing the 150k mark.
Get rid of them all.... or downsize by half.

No issues with managers, but seriously how many levels of VPs is really necessary?
You can call them whatever, but you need team leaders. Teams should be not more than a two pizza team (about 6)
Span of control, from 12 up to 15, direct reports is fine.
But mangers who comprehend the objectives/goals.
And most of all managers who are team builders.
