Remember the LP company wide lay off, well I do. Best thing that has ever happened to me. I enjoy life So much more. I was the only LP in my district not to take another position. No more 48 hour work weeks. I got off the titanic before it starts to sink.... God Bless

Another former LP here. I have been coasting on unemployment until something better comes along. My lifestyle affords me the opportunity to do that for 26 weeks. I enjoyed the job at Lowe's and thought highly of the people at my store. The corporate people were terrible and I am so glad that I don't have to listen to them anymore and have to perform my job by being intimidated. Now that Amazon is doing one day shipping I can imagine one day all Lowe's will be reduced to is selling lumber and being nothing more than a lumberyard.. I can see it now in big bright lights.....LOWE'S LUMBER here to serve you!
Former LP here as well. Luckily I found a job in construction management working Monday thru Friday, 40 hours a week and making more than I did as an LP. I definitely got lucky and am so happy I took the leap off the sinking ship. I was with Lowe's for 12 years and never thought I could have a better life outside of that place but I was definitely wrong.
Former LP here as well, out of curiosity, were you able to land on your feet after the layoff? I have applied to hundreds and hundreds of jobs after the layoff, gone on many interviews, but what I run into is for every 1 quality job, I run up against at a minimum 50 plus applicants.. This is with a Bachelor's Degree, 15 + years of experience, and have successfully managed $50M + companies before Lowe's...
Retail is dead and gone, and I've decided to go into the trades...at least I know electricity, plumbing, HVAC, welding, etc. isn't going anywhere and I can make a living off of.
