I was laid off a few months ago. I applied for numerous position, and nearly every one that resulted in an offer came with a higher pay than I was receiving at Dell.
While this might be unique to me, something tells me that's not the case.
Don't take my word for it, send out a few feelers. You might end up as surprised as I was.
I left Dell a year ago. I now have company-paid health insurance, a free transit pass, and a kitchen full of food that I don’t have to pay for. My paydays are now the 15th and end of every month instead of every other Friday. My rate went up a bit, but not having to shell out for a HSA and sub-standard insurance, along with all the other weird things Dell deducted from my check, I’ve come out way ahead.
At NDC it’s very high pay and 150% bonus for qa, support, sustaining.

Recently left and got huge (to me) base pay bump plus large signing bonus. More importantly, I’m working on things that are interesting now.

I'm leaving Dell in a few weeks, and I can say that I'm definitely taking a pay hit - even more substantial when including bonuses/LTI - but it was time to get out and am happy to be doing so.
depends. Dell pays peanuts for those with technical skills and pays fortune for those with articulation skills.
I left Dell over a year ago. It's a mixed bag on compensation. My Dell role paid more than the one I'm in now, but a new job I'm about to accept pays more than any of them. There are too many variables involved to make such a broad statement that Company X pays you less/more than Company Y.
ugh. This is nonsense. If you spent time at Dell and gained experience and skills that outpaced your position, then of course moving on to a new company would net you a bigger salary. This has nothing to do with Dell underpaying you.
I didn't find that to be the case.
