FYI - there will be an app for iPhone and Android coming out, it should enable you to to communicate with other associates if you'd like to switch shifts. This should give us all some flexibility.

All that really matters to the company is that a nice chunk of mid to long term associates quit and are not all replaced. More will drop to part time to get preferred hours costing the company less on insurance.
It’s not for the member or the associate. It’s for the top brass to make more money off our backs.
4 AM got screwed on this after you add CPU in. Also, it’s 4 AM.
Don’t forget that the 4 am shift is going to be responsible for the bulk of the Club Pick up orders that need done by 7 am. That alone will pull 3 people away from stocking during the hours we are closed.
This is brainless.
If you come in at 4:00 am then we have about 3 hours of good stocking time and making the club ready to open. Would enjoy the extra associates to get that done. One shift isn’t any harder than the other. Just different times of the day. Retail isn’t for everyone, but your choices are. You chose your happy place! Find it...
Cup Cake is right. Not only that, the opening position (cup cake position) they can be the laziest people, and us closers have to pick up their slack and make the club look like a Grand Opening before we leave.
I have been with the same club for 25 years. I am a fresh supervisor and the only person in my job code. I am forced to work Thursday-Monday 1-9:30. I cannot place my orders (due by 1:00) and I will not see my opening associates. I will never see my family. I hope they realize soon that this does not work!
To everyone saying the early shift is not cup cake, please...if you go in at 4 you deal with customers for 2 slow hours and call it quits....please, there is a reason most people are taking the early shifts. Enjoy your cup cakes.
This isn’t going to work. Question is how long does it take for them to realize it.
Everyone is just angry right now.
Both shifts are hard.
I personally prefer closing, but I know many who do not like it.

Being to work at 4am is not cupcake. Dont bash any of us we didn't come up with this plan. Respect your coworkers be angry at where this came from.
Neither shift is cupcake. Just garbage packaged differently.
The only ones that will want to switch shifts are the closers. No opener is going to give up their cup cake shift for a closing shift.
Only if you are in the same job code.
