Just curious... is there anyone out there who is happy with the block scheduling? I’d say 95% of my club is angry and upset about it

Personally it’s not a problem for me. 5-1:30 and I pulled a fast one and got Thursday’s and Friday’s off. The real problem is that most of the people around here take the bus.
The buses don’t run that early, and most of them have family’s and won’t/can’t work 1-9:30.
Everyone should walk out on May 11th.
Not happy at all.
The idea od simply finding another service might work for some but if you have gone to the same church for years and have deep relationships there it is a ridiculous notion to simply find another service. These associates have worked for the club for many years and gone to the same church. It was understood that these folks go to church. Now in a heartless move they are essentially being told to choose between keeping a long time job or maintaining long time church attendance.
The really stinky thing is that Sundays off is indeed a possibility but the management is straight lying about it .
My club has 25 people quitting on the one day event.
I like the idea of having a set schedule and set days off. Makes it easier to plan other things. It sure beats closing then turning around and going in to open. If you need time off for some special event in your life just use your PTO time. Reality is this is a retail business and the busy days are weekends. It comes with the job to work weekends. If you want a Monday-Friday job then you're in the wrong line of work. For those who choose to leave I wish you luck with the new job you find. There isn't any other retail job out there paying what I make with Sam's. No way I'm leaving, keeping a roof over my head is more important than being off weekends. You have to do what is best for you. Take time to really think about making the right decision for you and your family. Best of luck to all of you.
I mean I'm completely fine with it. All the other jobs I worked had basically a set schedule. This is retail. You should expect to work the weekends. That's where our paychecks come from.
I keep hearing people complain about not being able to go to church. But wouldn't the solution be if you open then find a PM service or if you close to find a AM service? I don't go to church but that's pretty obvious to me. If it's important to you then you'll find a way to make it work or leave for a M-F job
I love it. 5am to 1:30 and off on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Shopped at my old club, today. I was told 15 full timers have already given notice.
I love it, it’s thd great thing ever for me
Not even the the ones with early like it. Seriously who wants to get up at 4:30 am everyday, once they go in and have to work at 6am cleaning they’ll hate even more.
We have had some leave and a high percentage are applying for other jobs and waiting to see if they hear back. Seems like several wouldn't even mind a pay cut for a job that is more family orientated.I think in a few weeks we will see a 2 week notices increase as they start hearing from back from jobs they are applying for.
Hate it . The only one that like is the early shirt . They see nothing wrong with it . It’s horrible can’t go to church . Used to love working at Sams and was proud , but not anymore. Sam Walton is turn over in his grave for what his money hungry kids are doing so sad .
