Does anyone have any information about their plans for Kansas City. I am hearing all kinds of rumors that they are shutting the hump down to maybe even make it a storage yard.

It appears road jobs are safe, as there is no way to by-pass KC area on UP.
Simply Greed and more $ for the worthless CEO, who does nothing and cares more about running a losing railroad than making t money.
CSXT did same and is losing their shirt, they are worse than UP.Now son will likely move to BNSF, which is much better run and ALWAYS seeking qualified engineers and conductors.
Confirmed. It’s shutting down Monday.
That Council Bluffs wife better be hot!
I just hope they keep the shop open. I really don't want to Go look for another job but here lately its sounding better. Our new director is a Omaha robot that will not listen to a word said to him. Its the Omaha way or no way
Yesterday they said today @ 11:00 a.m. the news would go out as to whether it Shoreline or Neff. I work out of one of those terminals. Today's my off day, so probably won't know anything until shift change.
Sell the truck, sell the house, sell the wife!
How about Council Bluffs? Anyone heard anything I just bought a new house and a new truck and I can’t afford to get laid off my wife is lazy and she says Railroad wife’s shouldn’t have to work. I’m an old head after 4 years experience and I am freaking out I might lose all of my seniority if the yard shuts down.
I heard now that the Big Boy is ready they’re gonna start humping with it.
No one is OK.
I seriously hope they don't shut down all operations. This is not going to be good for the MOW department Signal Department, Car and Mechanical or TE&Y. How do you think it will effect those departments.
It’s probable, along with Global 2 and 3....
I’m hearing there will be an announcement on Friday. Maybe closing Des Moines too.
