Taking control of people’s availability

I think the main goal of all of these schedule changes is to basically test what employees will not have a problem with the company controlling their time and availability. Now that they’ve seen that these changes can be implemented without any big revolt from the employees ( I mean in terms of people leaving in droves) they can practically implement anything they want. So, In that sense, we should get ready for more, even bigger changes to come.

26 year associate, you have nearly 300 total PTO and PPTO hours, you could take a weekend of a month and still have nearly 2 weeks PTO for vacation . Please stop giving us long term associates a bad rap by complaining about not having a weekend day off every week. Remember we were blessed to be able to use our seniority to make these latest changes as little easier to absorb.

I am a 26 year associated and when i was called for my schedule to be set i was told that i could not have a day off on th weekend. After 26 years of being full time you would think they would take care of there long term associate but all they want to do is either fire us or force us to quit Sam Walton would of never have done this too his company it is so sad.

We lost 6 when overnights went to days-they have already been replaced with lower payed employees(company wins again) and have heard at least 10 people say they will not be able to work the new schedule- they will soon be replaced with lower payed employees (company will win again) Mission accomplished

Our club is leaving in droves. 25 notices put in and a handful already stopped showing up. Mind you not even half the club has got their sit down yet

The club that hired me 7yrs ago made it clear that I needed to have open availability to be at the membership desk. No problem. I wanted to be full time but was hired for part time. What I heard from long term associates was that part should be the ones closing. As that was what I was I felt that this was not fair. I still don't. I however do feel that if you are full time that you should have open availability. That way everyone in your department could have a weekend off. But with this new scheduling coming that will not happen for anyone.

It is just sad.

Sometimes a revolt is quiet though, don't think for one minute they are not applying everywhere for another job. Leaving will be on an increase in the weeks ahead. Revolts aren't always loud. They are networking and helping each other find places hiring so they can apply It's just quiet conversations.
