Future proof yourself. Many of the Door Greeters at my club can barely run the handhelds. Two Door Greeters refuse to use them at all. One just leans against a wall or the steel on first feature.
Next for future proofing is the cafe. There is grumblings that the cafe is going to precooked food that will be in vending machines.
Maintenance is on the block too. The roomba cleaning machine is a small step in that direction and if your skill set is limited to either just riding around on the zamboni for your shift and the dust mops are not your forte and you have no handy person skills.
No, door greeters are not being let go. They now work the desk, the door, and stock before the store opens and after it closes.
Door greeters should have never been a position in the first place. We wasted so much money for that position, and the doors that were greeted never once said thank you back!!!
If they can’t perform the stocking and membership yes bye bye.
