Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

A nearly universal truth. Those who don't like seniority do not have it.

I chuckle to myself when I read folks on here all teary eyed over folks with seniority getting first schedule pick. It is a near certainty that those who whine about seniority also do not have it. Jealousy Jealousy Jealousy. After the beatings those with seniority have endured it is about time something significantly nice happen to them and that that nice thing be dependent on the seniority the possess. After you have been here 20 years then you to can enjoy the few things seniority affords you.

Why not have bids like a lot of places do? You bid with your seniority, that way every six months or a year you could change if you want.

Not even those with seniority like the schedule changes. Absolutely asinine.

I think seniority is fair. What s---s is our club has a lot of long term partners. People that are here 10 years in some areas r low man on the totem pole.

Does job performance mean anything to this company? I think not! So much for myself really putting in my 100%!

Don’t worry 20 year+ associates. Walmart will find a way to cut you all real soon. The squeeze is on and you will all be working for less singing a different tune somewhere else.

Cut all of the 20+ year associates and redistribute the wealth with the rest of us.

seniority is earned.. that being said Those with seniority have/had A LOT of perks that newer associates will never see. Merit raises, 40 to 60 cent yearly raises etc etc. someone who has been with the company for 20 years could(should) be making over 20$ an hour in almost ANY position. Where as someone who started 5 years ago will be making somewhere around 15-17 an hour after they hit twenty years with the current raise system. Sams simply no longer is viable for a long term career unless you wanna move up. Not the fault of the long time associates at all just the reality of the situation.

hahahaha...so the first two replies to me are Sam's Club infants who still have an accident in there itty bitty diapers. Just like I said you do not like seniority because you do not have it. It is certain that if you were here only five years and were yet the longest term associate in your club you would be thrilled to have first schedule choice based on your seniority, Problem is many of you tear squirters are in your twenties , been with the club a year or two and believe you have sacrificed a lot. It is likely few of you will be at any job for 20 years because you think you walk through the door on the first day as valuable as the folks who have already been there for many years.

and as far as suffering with the rest of you HA!! We have suffered longer than many of you are old. Why did we stay? Because we know we need a job to feed families and pay for houses. We do not job jump just because nobody cared when we stamped our little feet. We stuck it out and finally we are reaping something of a reward for our tenacity.

We did our time, Believe me I think most of us are suprised they at least did that for us. For years it's been a roller coaster and we're still here for the ride seeing where this will take us. Don't think the a m shift will be easy but it's much better then the other. Good luck to all keep building your time you may need it when your late because you hit snooze a couple times. Thanks for the Ppto

The problem is if I spent 20 years working for this company, well, I think the taste of a bullet would make a pretty good last meal.

That is not right. There is no union here. You should suffer with the rest of us.
