I found a new way to waste time on the sales floor. It involves a handheld and a app. Now I am not a big app person. But nothing is more fun then walking around the club and asking Sam on the Ask Sam app what is this or where is this or who is working.
My latest is Ask Sam and cooking suggestions.
What is your Ask Sam ask?
While on the sales floor I had a member ask a question about dog food that is normally carried in the club. It was even a Member's Mark brand so the member was curious why we have such a hard time keeping our own brand in the club and continuously tell members we can no longer carry other name brands.
I asked over my radio if anyone knew when the dog food was coming back and a manager said "Ask Sam". I did not have a earpiece in so the member heard what the manager said. I showed the member what the manager was talking about on one of our handhelds and opened the Ask Sam app.
First I said, "Members Mark dog food". Ask Sam, "I am still learning, try asking again later." I then said, "Members Mark Lamb and Rice dog food". Ask Sam, "I am still learning, try asking again later."
Finally I said recipes using Members Mark Lamb and Rice dog food. Ask Sam gave me a recipe for chicken pot pie.
The member just nod their head and gave me that look of you poor individual and said they would come back later to see if the dog food came in.
It’s so true the app is sh--. Why ask Sam they could give a sh-- what his vision was.
Ask Sam App is about like the help desk.... it ain’t helpful!! Several times I’ve asked something on the Ask Sam App and the reply I get is “I am new and don’t know the answer to this question” or something to that effect!! I don’t have time for this nonsense!!
