The former SP yard in Kansas City, KS is set to close later this week. This auto switching yard processes 300-500 cars per day. The diesel shop there was closed a few months ago with mechanical forces let go. Around 30 people will lose their jobs as a result. Good luck to everyone, a lot of good people getting jammed up for the greed of a few.

This is just more destruction of a public utility for the unbridled greed of foreign investors.
Ah yes, the PSR trend continues. For anyone that really believed that this was going to end at the end of last year, was badly mistaken. I know something like this was posted a while ago, but the cuts are never going to end. If anyone from the CP posted here then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. PSR operates on a simplified idea of doing more with less, obviously. The cuts WILL continue until that magical operating ratio of 55 is achieved. There's companies popping up that provide services that were performed by company personnel. These companies offer these services, at very substantial cost reduction, therefore providing the same work at less cost. It's a very attractive option to the UP. The CP gutted its workforce, closed many locations, and became a very unreliable RR. The new CEO has actually reversed some of the PSR methods and brought people back. The CP is now doing better than it was before PSR. That has actually been confirmed through the national news outlets. What the UP is doing is the same that CP did, but has added their own twist. Any of you or all of you are welcome to disagree with what I've said. I'd invite you to research the CP and CSX business models/numbers before, during, and after PSR. PSR was designed to maximize shareholder profit by lowering the operating ratio. The ONLY way to lower it is to reduce assets. The UP is a big company, and will hit the bottom a whole lot harder. I encourage all the UP brothers and sisters, along with the other railroad brethren to just relax and wait. I pray for all of you that have been affected by this. With PSR, nobody wins except the shareholders. Stay strong people
Neff is still not safe. Got to perform at these extraordinary levels with double work per person, no recrews, and the incompetent command center is supposed to perform like normal which will never happen with Paula and Chris I’m there. Start preparing for cuts again in September. Too much incompetence for this to work.
