Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Bosses in NORTH PLATTE TODAY....

The CEO, CMO, COO and one or two other big dogs are in North Platte yard today and have a town meeting this afternoon (after their tour of the yard). What’s the meaning behind the tour and town hall, no one knows...........

Undercover reconnaissance. I guess visits are going to happen at all terminals. They're simply doing a walk-through to see where they can continue to make cuts and bone its employees! Enjoy

id--ts! Go ahead and think you are invincible. Ask Hinkle how that worked for them. Do your job well and show them your job is valuable. Be a smart @#$*& and try to impress them ie. cost them money by being stupid and you WILL be taken out of the equation. They have already PROVEN that! Grow up. And yes The civic leaders in North Plate are horrible with no long range plan. They have done to North Platte what PSR is doing to UP!

Yard rationalization, don’t be thinking North Platte can’t change. Every yard, every location can and will be affected. North Platte isn’t even on North, South rail only East, West. Hinkle was on North, South, East, West, and a major international freight interchange, all gone. Be wary North Platte will not look the same in 60 days.

Probably because the town is panicking because city fathers are going in debt to built housing. Too much relying on UP instead of concentrating on other jobs to stabilize the economy. Town is dying anyway.

CEO's been up there 3 times in 5 days.

Supposedly JV wants to close it but I don't think that's possible.
