With all the QMT's gone I was wondering how are the stores that are still open doing as far as Maintenance ? I know house keeping has changed but what about the lighting and plumbing issues that come up daily. Who doing the repairs .

Only half the lights have been on for over a month I guess that's life now
Our tile floors are falling apart everywhere in the store and probably filled with asbestos . The employees bathroom toilets leak and the sink is clogging up with brown water. Our ceiling has caved in many places and leaks every time it rains. We still dont have our liquor license renewed and no t-b-cco. No more dairy has been delivered for months. The lights are only half on. How long can this go on?
In our store it is not that we cannot use the p card to pay, the problem is no contractor wants to deal with anything to do with Sears/kmart/shc/transformco. They were burned during BK for thousands and the word is out to other contractors not to do business with sears. Just look on Primeclerk to see how many small businesses are still owed money.
Took our P-card away a month ago. They werent paying the bills. We also have the utilities sending payment notices to us again. It's like BK all over again
You call a local and pay with the P card
We used to call local contractors to do some of the maintenance, but since SHC did not pay most of them they refuse to do any work for us. We have called numerous contractors to come fix a clogged main drain in our store but they dont want to have anything to do with us. Even the ones over 2 hours away are not willing to work for us.
Can't wait until someone calls the health department about drains not working and toilets not working. Its been two weeks and no bathrooms.
Typical Eddie, flood the market with mattresses just as the whole retail business of mattresses is going bankrupt because of guys like Purple. How fast is he going to lose $10 billion this time around?
It's only May . Even in the best of times the store managers told their maintenance crew to not start the ac before the meter reading date . At least the managers who knew how to manage their fixed costs .
Pretty good actually. Though the store isn’t that old compared to some. We are getting tons of merchandise in the past two weeks. Even got a truck on a day we don’t normally get trucks. TONS of mattresses. I know the bankruptcy doc said mattresses but it’s insane. Eddie, if you are reading this didn't you hear Mattress Firm went bankrupt?
No one is. Occasionally rats escape into the shopping floor, and only then do we call for exterminators. If Eddie thinks the real estate is worth something after years of neglect he's got another think coming.
Who is cleaning the roof tops and filling water towers, getting chiller up and running and doing over all starting up of the equipment, checking equipment to make sure it works before it gets hot, turning off heat and gas everywhere?
How are you paying for contractor work?
