Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

So how many are planning to leave at your club?

With the coming changes that will see our lives locked into an uncompromising schedule the number of people planning on leaving at my club has skyrocketed.

We're actual living people, Sam's, not that you really care. And you sure as sh-- don't pay us enough to put up with this.

“Demanding a raise...” oh that’s rich! Why don’t you k--l two birds with one stone and have that resignation letter printed in your back pocket for when they stop laughing at you.

So myopic...

Longtime coworker who busted his *** day in and day out is leaving Monday. Myself and another coworker are going into the office on Tuesday and demanding a substantial raise, if not, we hand in our 2 weeks.

That meat department will crash and burn without us there to pull 17 hour shifts.

First off HO could give a rats a-- if everyone quits they are not in the clubs having to deal with the p-ss-d off members because we have no help. As long as people continue shopping there they will continue doing there stupid changes and it puzzles me why people continue renewing there membership.

They can't replace the knowledge they are losing when they lose all these long time associates. You may hire 2 for the same payroll but 90% won't stay long and if they do stay it will take many years to get even half the knowledge. Your full time long time associates are what keep these clubs running. We have been without a cm and other managers at different times and the club keeps running because of these associates. Good luck without them.

My main question to Sam’s corporate is what do you do when people quit and you don’t have anyone that is applying to take their place?!?! As much as they think they don’t need people who will take care of those members that need and expect to be taken care of? Happy employees =Happy members =Profit! Not sure that corporate gets that anymore!

They want the numbers to dwindle. Soon enough the damn store will turn into e-commerce. They won't need many employees. The way of the business world ever changing and moving with the times. They don't care about the employees, only the cash flow.

After 25+ years I’m leaving. This was the final straw for me. Telling me that I HAVE to work every weekend forever. I don’t mind working weekends but every one...come on. I know it will be scary but I will be okay. Good luck to those that leave, you too will also be okay. Good luck to those staying.
