What if I wanted to step down from a lead position and go to another job? Does seniority still count even though the manager has already talked to the full time people in that area I’m looking to step down to? Can I still get the shift I want and the days off? Also WHY can’t we take an extra day off and still be considered full time? I was “grandfathered” in at only having to work 28 hours a week and I was told I have to work 40 hours. Why????? I was also told the “grandfather” clause is now nonexistent.

Did you sign a new terms of employment? Did it say 40 hours per week, full time? or 28 hours per week, full time? We have associates that were hired by Mr. Sam himself and they are still Grandfathered at 28 hours full time.

I think grandpa off his meds 2 post down is salty about them removing grandfathered status....keep up with the times old man.
Grandfathered is gone!!! Seniority means nothing. If you step down you will take a 5-10% pay cut. I was there 15 years and they eliminated my job and wanted me to take a pay cut. I said Bye Felicia
No dumb--ses !!!the guy was hired before all the changes and in order to stay full time he only has to work a minimum of 27 hours before they changed it to 34 hours there are some of us that have been with the club for 20 plus years so he was grandfathered in some people don’t have to work a full 40 they also r older need the insurance quit being an a-- assuming u know everything maybe he can afford to work only the minimum of 28 hours not all of us live pay check to pay check like apparently u do .. talking about part time sometimes u need to keep the dumb comments to yourself ... if u don’t know keep ur 🤐!!! There are some rules that still apply for us old timers that were hired before u were able to work!!!
If you step down you will get whatever is left in your new department. The ppl in the area will get first pick over you even if you have more seniority due to the fact that they are already in that job code. This is per my gm because I also asked about switching departments.
We need full time associates to work full time shifts. If you want to work 28 hours a week then take the part time shifts.

You should only have to work 28 hours and remain fulltime. Sounds like your CM makes up his/her own rules. Kind of a normal things today.
