Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Managers pets

So,I found out yesterday that in our club the CM is giving a few of the short term associates their choice of days off before talking to the long term associates. And of course they are asking for Saturday or Sunday off. Then the long term associates are being told Saturday's or Sunday's are no longer available. I guess it pays to kiss a$$.

Can someone tell me if this is allowed. Managers are being very closed mouth about a lot of stuff.

The talks are supposed to go in the order of seniority. That being said the club I am at is doing the same several associates both FT and PT are getting to keep their hours and days off. One associate suddenly had a surge of wanting more responsibility since they were told if they step up to MSS they can keep the new schedule they will have in June. Yup getting paid more than some long term associates and no weekends and still FT.

If you really want to put a monkey wrench in this 3 ring circus. Go in to GTA Portal and request every weekend off you can do and be sure to do it as Unpaid. The reason for Unpaid is that if you are FT the scheduling has to get you to your 32 to 34 hours.

If the club does not use the hours you would have worked. The hours are lost the next fiscal year, yup good ole use it or lose it.

The managers are talking to everyone in the club that is full time. They’re only asking for suggestions of off days that people would like. There is a specific schedule for every department in the building and they’re all set by home-office. Just because a short term associate asked for weekends off does not mean they will get it. There are only 3 block schedules in the entire club that have weekends off. All other schedules in the building will work for weekends or at least one of the days on the weekend. If you are part time Then you will be able to put in your availability to your needs an after hours available you will be scheduled accordingly.

It does not matter what order they talk to you in. But the long term associates preferences will be given to them first if they fit with in the block schedule.

i can do better than that. we have an officer in the legal department who let one of his attorneys spy on the entire group, and then used the defamation collected to demote on of his attorneys. walmart is the greatest company in the world, for abusing its employees

Email the hr over your market long term supposed to be first choice just let him know you want a Sunday or Saturday don’t let your CM force you to do what he wants and make sure you fill the availability and pick at least two days to be all day be firm tell your cm you can’t because of religious and family obligations they will offer you part time but don’t agree or sign anything about being part time just tell them that you are only asking for one day off and that if the system doesn’t give you the hours you will look for another job or different department or transfer to Walmart is supposed to be 12 consecutive weeks to change you to part time
