Yes you can - I know because I was approved. File on line and you will probably get denied then appeal. You must go to the appeal - Vz will not show up. You do not wait for your severance to run out!!! I got approved and received benefits for the 3 weeks and was given the back weeks I was owed. During the appeal process still file for your benefits online

every week. Good Luck!!!

I know examples where VZ people would get unemployment in MA in the past after being laid off. But not sure if there is a difference if you volunteered.

If they qualify, it would not be until after the severance $$ ran out. When my wife's company closed (the brothers that owned the company retired), she received a severance covering many weeks; 6 months if I remember correctly. MA wouldn't send her a check until the severance check period expired.
