Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Get out now!

If you think you are doing yourself a favor by staying at Sam’s you’re not! Get out now before they shut the whole place down!

They don’t care about the associates anymore. There is NOTHING in job descriptions that says your job depends on plus, credit, upgrades etc. You are helping the mgrs get a bigger bonus. They will get rid of you if they get the chance especially if you have more time in!!!

Lets me get real with my thoughts on this thread. Yes, we are all replaceable; however, There is an 80/20 rule that has to be considered in regards to labor/productivity in each club. The 80/20 rule is that about 20 percent of the associates perform about 80 percent of the work. There are a lot of lazy people in each and every club. If you fire to many of the high productive workers at once, or if they quite in mass at the same time because they get tire of being treated poorly while being taken advantage of, the club sales and standards drop. So, yes, again I say we are all replaceable, but that is a dangerous phrase that rotate commonly in this company. The world of retail.

Sams is not closing because a handfull of associates out of 1000's are unhappy so get over yourself. I learned a long time ago anyone can be replaced and if you think they cant replace you think again. I been there over 25 years and have seen more changes than I can count and they will continue to make changes and of course I dont like most of them but they never ask for my opinion either. As long as someone is signing my check so I can get paid then I will do what I can and like you I can leave at anytime I want they are not holding a gun to my head to make me work there. Before everyone jumps on me I basically despise the company but I do have a mortgage and other thing that must be paid so yea Ive learned to deal with it. For us that has been there this long we are pretty much maxed out and we just cant go find another job so easy making what we make. Today is the big one day event and watch how many people flock to the clubs. Most clubs will do half a millon is sales today and if you dont then yea your club will be one of the ones that closes in the near future.

I don't know about Sam's closing because my club fills orders to business that sell on Amazon. That's good right? We pack their stuff in Amazon boxes too. Last year we maxed out on the Sam's Share $3,250, but for this 1st quarter though, we're only expecting about $450. $850 is the max per quarter. I've been working for Sam's since I was 18 years, 9 months and 9 days old. I only need to make it for 14 more years, till I'm 59 1/2. Then I could take out my 401k money. And that should get me until I'm 70. Then I'll retire. How many years has it been since Sam's opened a new club?

I feel bad for the ones who have been there 20+ years thinking they were going to retire there. The place will be closed before that ever happens. They know it. They're just having a hard time waking up and realizing they need to do something about it now. They're going to regret waiting.
