Yes, so in your case unfortunately, a piece of toilet paper is more valuable than the RSUs.

I meant RSU's ..as you said may be 0 value since they are axing before 1 year!

Be very specific and precise. What is a "stock bonus"? Do you mean stock options? Do you mean Restricted Stock Units (RSU's)? If you are referring to one of these two, any unvested amounts are immediately forfeited on RIF day unless you are miraculously lifeboated into another Oracle group on the same day. Yeah, it s---s but it's just more proof that they don't care about their employees.

Sorry USA folks you WON'T be getting a month's pay for each year of service. Count on much less than that.

You don't get a payout for "unlimited vacation", you get 0 or zero or nothing...

US has been giving 1 month pay for 1 year of service with a maximum of 12 for some 16 for others.

And bonus? you aren't serious - if you didn't get a bonus while employed, why would you get once when being rif'd?

I thought they stopped doing the early prep stuff with the couriers after they found out we were using it to figure things out. Typical HR, they're not happy unless it's a surprise execution.

Check your FedEx and UPS accounts to see if there is a letter on its way to you. If there is, well, you’re moving on here in life to bigger and much better things: Congrats!

isn't severance in US, 1 month salary per 1 year?

I didn't take any vacation time..

" and unlimited vacation pay out + bonus extra for some one who worked 1 year?"

One of the reasons that the "unlimited vacation" fad has caught on in many companies is that you no longer accrue vacation days, so there is no payout when you leave.

As for severance for "bonus pay", it's zero.

Did Oracle hire any outside consultants to optimize businesses and make the company look s-xy as takeover target?

Bet on a rif and you'd probably be correct. You're not being called to a meeting to discuss end of quarter party plans. Get your linkedin and resume updated and enjoy a few weeks off to relax before you get another job. Be happy you're leaving this corrupt, dysfunctional pile of cow turd company that rips the soul out of anything it touches.

Dear friend, It’s certainly for lay-off and your manager is supposed to read a script given by HR. It’s not the end of the world, in every case I know of, people who got laid off are happier, making more money and thriving in a healthy work environment.

Wish you the best!

Rarely is a rif due to job performance, those are called firing and usually with a PIP in advance so they don't get sued. But rif's are due to under performing business units or change of strategy (laughable that anyone believes there is a business strategy)

So...if you have a meeting scheduled with your manager that suddenly appears, it could mean you are going to be laid off. I would not say 'fired'. Getting 'fired' has the connotation that you did something wrong. Losing your job due to company restructuring or de-investment in your product area is not the same thing - you will get a package. When you look for another job you say that you "your job was eliminated as part of corporate restructuring". You do not say "I was fired" if you were let got as part of a larger RIF! Unless you are being interviewed by someone in their early twenties, most seasoned workers who interview people know that layoffs happen - they may have been the victim of one in their own past - and they aren't a reflection of the person who got hit. Sure, sometimes they lump low performers in with a larger layoff, but I knew a lot of very competent people at Oracle who lost their jobs due to restructuring and it was more about what they worked on and less about their job performance.
