The wrong people are getting displaced. They should displace the levels of IT management who created the chaotic atmosphere we work in today. You know the ones. The ones who are draining every ounce of energy from us with their pathetic and unrealistic expectations. The ones who are borderline paranoid and have no experience in management. The ones who think they can design a system by giving verbal design instructions on a phone call. There are disturbing actions taking place. People are afraid to speak up. Can't trust your manager anymore.

Greenfield is a mess, they cut corners and lots have fallen through the cracks.. nice way to blow 10 million on an unstable architecture!
Yep, they've done a real bang-up job with Greenfield and resiliency. I'm still not sure what we're trying to 'protect' ourselves from nor how this new 'scalability' really helps other than to create more confusion and functionality that nobody asked for in the first place other than incompetent CIO and a bunch of overpaid consultants.

Anyone who makes changes by phone gets an email from me that says something like:
"This is to confirm the change you requested, , will be implemented on . If there are any issues with this change, please get back to me before . If no issues are brought to my attention, the change will proceed as requested."
I cc everyone on emails like that, especially when dealing with a manager who'll throw you under the bus if something goes wrong.
