Total target is 10% of global headcount. This is being done in 3 phases...Around 5000 in first phase globally , Second Phase in June. and Third one in September.
Another post said up to 1300 in IDC.
500? not really. a more correct figure is in the range of thousands. mainly OCI-C and what's remaining of HW - and not only what's remaining of SPARC / Solaris.
The focus of Oracle is cloud only, LE was very clear: Oracle will quickly become a cloud service provider for enterprises. and 140k people are not needed to do business that way.
