Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Any VP, IC6 laid off ?

Is the layoff happening across all job levels? If anything, VPs, M7s not to speak of manipulating IC6 and IC5 should go. They just played along with the mess, screwing the troops at the bottom and leaving us in this mess.

I’m an IC6. Wasn’t aware I was meant to be manipulative. Glad I’m not though. There is a lot of reforms which will benefit the company long term. I anticipate more headcount to go, and while this is unfortunate it should assist in transformation of the company.

Across the board, naturally, all levels will be affected by the changes. Some will go, many won’t.

Oh the secret is out, next those non-manipulating IC 1,2,3,4's will be crashing our IC5 trilateral commission monthly meeting, where we plot the world takeover and publish our master plans to the underground network of political supporters. Do you seriously think that all IC5's have been trained to manipulate the rest of Oracle? Sure - there are nasty manipulators across the company but why target IC5s? This is a dysfunctional and paranoid environment that breeds fear and contempt, don't make it worse by starting these crazy stories. Oracle is an equal opportunity playground of deception and politics.

I tallied M6, several M5s, a lot of M4s, IC5s, IC4s and IC3s and below in the casualty list. Don’t worry. You are in good company and not just because of your envy.

I know of an M6, 2 M5's and 2 M4's cut today. No IC-5's or 6's that I saw locally.

IC5 here. I guess I mishandled the manipulation and RIF'd myself somehow. I should aim better next time.

ic5 here. not manipulative. not political. im probably overpaid by any reasonable standard. but i can promise you this - im overpaid because im smart - both in getting the pay and when it comes to this industry. when i got here a while ago i correctly sized up the issues in about 4-6 weeks. i wrote down the litany of things i saw wrong and how to fix them. i know a lot of this because i have been on the "buy side" of this before, i have done startups and a few large companies. i know how to build products people want and buy without being coerced. i know what the customers want. ive been the customer. i can very likely tell you how to build a product just the way most customers will want it. mostly this comes down to defining how things should be installed operated maintained and configured in very general terms. i can get very specific. i can more or less hear a customer story/use case from sales and then tell you how the meeting will go and what the customer will ask for. im very much like yoda when it comes to this. and you know what. after telling people what to do and how to do it for a very short while (without politics or manipulation) after about 6 months i said im done - ill take the money and i go off and study the market, the competition, do some side work and basically wrote off big red as hopeless. if you are stupid, insane or any of the following: (psychopathic, narcissistic, psychotic, sociopathic) you will continue to try and make sense of big red - fight fights, blame others, wonder how or why this place works the way it does, etc. accept you cannot affect change at big red. prepare for your next job. in fact, dream of a nice job and go for it. big red is coin operated and the sales people hold a ton of power and have a lot of control. second to them is the relational database nutcases stuck in the 1990s. between those two any good idea you can cook up with meet caliphate level resistance even though you are trying to help them. it doesnt matter. none of this matters. big red doesnt matter. you and i dont matter. its ok. take the money, bide your time and do something else more useful with your time.

Another IC5 still here, sorry if I haven't been manipulating the lives of 140K people enough to be rif'd. You folks must all be in prod dev and engineering - the real housewives of oracle orgs. I'm a simple guy just doing my inane job, not planning the takeover of the world, trying to do my best among the sharks, liars and VP's of destruction and doom.
