Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Unofficial layoff report in IDC Bangalore

This entire week layoffs are happening in IDC. In terms of head count IDC is the worst affected. The number is so high that HRs are not able to keep up and scheduled layoffs in batches till mid April. The total number ranges from 800-1300 in IDC. As of writing the post this is the layoff scenario in IDC Bangalore :

18-19 March : Layoff happened in OTH, number not known, but at least 50+

21st March : At least 150 people got layed off from Kalyani Magnum. Among several teams IDCS is one confirmed team.

25-30 people from PTP got layed off.

22nd March : Layoffs are happening in Krishna Magnum, number and team unknown.

The amount of people they are laying off the new campus (OTH) will soon be empty.

Whatever I posted here are confirmed. I haven't posted any rumor. So the actual number could be even more. Also I am not posting the severance here as I am hearing multiple things from multiple sources and can not be confirmed. If any one knows about the severance please comment.

Anyone have a theory about why IDC was hit so hard? If Oracle finally changing its offshoring strategy?

Regarding Slack Accounts and layoffs:

In the U.S., I've checked accounts of several folks I know got laid off yesterday, in Colorado and California. Try to direct message them on Slack and it shows the text: "You are viewing the archives of a deactivated account.", and there is no option other than "Close" (i.e. you cannot send a message).

IMHO, if you see the same thing, there is a good chance they are gone.

"Best way to check is through Slack. Accounts are immediately deactivated there."

NOPE. That is not true. I just checked. A few ppl who got hit yesterday are still there today.

Some level of hiring has happened after a long period of hiring freeze. This may be why total strength numbers may not have changed too much.

Are these where people are still in Aria/payroll for 1 month, but no laptop/email??

Aria takes 3-4 days to update. Don't use it as the source. In fact, check your IM. If a name in there shows Not Authorised, then probably that person is gone.

Another way is to check the person's calendar.

Affected people are getting 1 month's NP. So they are not removed from ARIA.

Trolls, don't publish unless you know for sure, it creates unnecessary panic.

The total strength has not changed. you can check that in aria. on the contrary it has increased by 100
