Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Our sears store will no longer be selling small appliances

How strange! We use to have a pretty massive selection of coffee pots, slow cookers and just about anything you would need in your kitchen. From basic brands up to the hemorrhage elite brands.

We are now down to maybe 4 bakers racks of products with no replenishment expected.

Was told that eventually the small appliance items will be sent to Kmart since they sell better there.

Is any other sears stores eliminating small appliances div 8?

My wife and I bought our living room furniture at Macy's...

Very good quality and the price was comparable to the furniture stores in the area..

I’m sure it’s very much store dependent. I love it when someone says the whole company is getting out of something or another. Just because one store isn’t going to sell something doesn’t mean it’s company wide. Every store has a different assortment. Some stores will have a wider assortment and others will be more limited. Same with any company, for example not all Macy’s stores sell furniture.

Our store just increased infants and children’s depts with more products they never even had before. Luggage hasn’t changed they just moved it around to fit more toys.

We just got a shipment of those Ovation stand mixers. Yep, $400 stand mixers of dubious build quality are surely going to save this company. Meanwhile I've seen that over 100 Kmarts are getting out of large appliances almost entirely, save for freezers and dorm refrigerators, if those can be called large.

Might just be a vendor thing. My Kmart has this section suffering bigtime as well, but I doubt this is the end of small appliances at Kmart, even if it takes forever to fill shelves. Unless of course the empty shelves kill the company first...

@syf I guess non-existent is technically unprofitable

We hardly ever get div 8 small appliances on our trucks anymore. Hardly any div 96 either. It's pathetic.

"Weez got ALL the customers weez need"

Weez dont need no stinkin' customers

Eddie alienated every single small appliance vendor in the world during the bankruptcy. That ole Eddie Lampert charm.

Home fashions, luggage and baby gear are being eliminated in most Sears stores as well.

By the time they get the vendors back every store will be unprofitable!

They need to do something different to get customers coming in the store before it’s too late!!

If this happens, it’s probably not permanent. They’re probably just shifting product around because of the vendor situation
