Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

how to fix the pdc process - improve quality and reduce cost

I think if we really want to go digital, we need to find a way to make job applications and selection 90% digital. Let a machine learning computer digest all the GO-400s, people and job rankings (must-move, priority, etc) and the job slates and then come up with the perfect solution to put the best person in each job, allow for modest career development and maximize number of jobs filled and people selected. The PDCs can review the results for 1/2 day via Webex and make no more than 10% changes.

Wow. I guess I am one of those turd heads your talking about Mr Payne. For the other post, no, I was not wearing a blue shirt.

I was there for another event with my wife's law firm and there were at least 8 guys I know from Chevron there with blue shirts on. I am making a huge leap in assuming that was the group based on the blue team comment.

How many fools showed up at the Flying Saucer pub last night? I bet nobody showed, not even the turd head who posted the invite.

Thank you guys for showing up. As our friendly PDR reminded us last night, it is career ending to make a compliant to HR. Our best route is to continue to educate the workforce on sites like this one about the discriminatory activities of the HES organization. For those that say quit, it is a bit harder when you have a newborn and this is the only source of income.

For those interested in sharing, several of us will be at the Flying Saucer tonight at 9PM. For those of you that know what the blue team means, I have several updates from the HES PDC that will piss you off.

Donuts and coffee are pretty much the key skills in global power. I can't think of anything else GP might have accomplished.

There is so much dishonesty and overinflated accomplishments on peoples pdcs at Chevron. I remember we had a guy in global power that his only skill was getting the boss coffee and donuts and drinking beer with the boss on Friday’s. When you read his pmp, you thought the guy was a 1.0 performer

Agree... Most of the PDR's and sponsors don't even understand how a PDC should be run.

Want to know how to fix the PDC Process? Get rid of the PDC. Case closed.

This is stupid. Ever read someone’s resume that makes them sound like they walk on water only to find they have an IQ of 80? That’s who the machine would pick.

I think you have an inflated opinion of the prowess of machine learning, and besides I can come up with an algorithm to get any results I want.

I think all of these HES people are getting their hopes up to only be crushed again. It is sort of like March Madness. Each PDC cycle the board lights up with HES complaints. We get it. HES is a terrible function. Just post out.

I do like reading the HES post because it makes me feel better about my function even with all of its flaws.

That will take away people’s power and remove rampant nepotism from the system. Hence, it will never happen at Chevron.

If you don’t work for BCG, you should. That would make a great PowerPoint.
