Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

ASMS SMS GETTING LAID OFF THIS WEEK?

After reading this thread it appears asms and sms will be the first wave of cuts in order to create future openings for upper management that survives. Thoughts?

I wouldn’t mind taking a pay cut to work 45 hours to keep my job and help support the changes in the company. Changes need to happen.

Another person causing drama. We all know that the future is about change. The changes we know are that all ASMs will be hourly and have the set 45 hour option only. They will most likely offer some older gens an early retirement option if possible or incentive. They are not wanting to just give keys to associates. They want more 40hr a week sups. There is nothing wrong with that. I worked 50 hours as a CST, then came back as a Dept sup, and my work life balanace is great, and the pay is FAIR. So many are upset they don’t get their high pay anymore, but we aren’t worth that pay. We don’t do the same jobs as they did 15 years ago, and it’s pretty tough to cover 50 hours a week with people that want a better balance. The ship isn’t sinking, it’s learning how to run more efficiently in this new environment. It’s not all about the stores, it’s also about online. Get with the program if you ever want to work retail management again.

Better sell them Beyond +’s. Gotta give people a reason to comeback

The regional and district staff can’t cover all the shifts in the stores. Giving the associates keys and an alarm code to run the stores will surely sink the ship.
