Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

What happens next with Support Analysts

It won’t be long before the Xerox internal memos tell sales and service that the HCL expense is to high and start limiting and reducing analyst support. That will be followed by an internal memo prohibiting HCL analyst support. That will be followed by HCL laying off analysts because of declining engagements at Xerox.

It’s not hard to figure out.

I’m a GIS analyst and no one on my team was transferred to HCL. They put us under the service umbrella and at this point have no intention of rebadging us. It’s hard to outsource a job that requires remote as well as field work, especially in the production space. I’ll be staying positive until they tell me not to

Bankruptcy is not the end goal. A yard sale is.

Nope you’re dreaming if you think the goal is is to file bankruptcy. Icahn wants the sell off the pieces to HP, Cannon etc.

I disagree. For large Production Solutions, onsite analyst involvement will continue to be necessary for setup, application testing and client op. training. But Xerox could dictate that only Xerox (non-HCL) analysts support solution implementation. Their sales activity would have to decline at least 50% for this to be feasible. Certainly that could be the underlying objective - wind down sales activity and file bankruptcy!
