Just in Verizon offering all management a reward for identifying techs who have rescued animals

Verizon has realized the real value of their managers .With the quick response to suspend technicians for having morales or feelings .They realize there is still time to keep the rest of the heartless managers that didnt leave .In the quick response they were able to identify the cat saving tech .Quickly suspending him and avoiding any further thoughts or feelings of compasion among fellow techs as a warning they used heavy handed stern repremanding instead of a slight warning only proving what would we do without our fearless leaders.

Never leave an amateur to do the job of a Professional! He should have called the Fire Dept!!! PS, I am a FF and it wouldn’t be the first time I had to encourage a cat to leave a tree. Amazing how they always land on their feet!!

Hans was promoted to reduce headcount costs, he is doing a very good job so far. Lets see how many jobs can be eliminated in the next 5 years.

Verizon does not value their employees so the whole safety argument is complete and total bs. I can’t tell you how many times a senior manager in our group was investigated for fireable offenses (a lot worse than saving a cat) and constantly got away with his behavior, one incident after another. The credo is a bunch of c-ap. Verizon applies the rules to those they want to apply the rules to and the ones that don’t have the same standards get permanent get out of jail free cards.

As an actual tech. Unlike the last 2 people who posted. We work way closer to electric everyday on the job so what this guy did was no big deal. If that was a directors cat u could bet your paycheck they would of asked a tech to get it down for them. Verizon just wanted more bad publicity they didnt get enough the last strike !!!

Jeez what a bunch of fear mongering BS. The tech made the call to do something against policy for their protection. If anyone bothered to watch the video, the tech struck the pole and jerked the bucket multiple times. Clearly this could have injured himself, others, or even the cat. Get off your high horse, this has nothing to do with managers\ment and is a feeble attempt to push more rage culture.

This is a pointless post. While I feel for the tech, he clearly violated safety protocols. Those protocols are in place for a reason. You can't blame his management for his poor decision making skills. The court of public opinion will take care of his salary with the Go Fund account. And for the record, that cat got up there alone and when hungry enough, would have come down on it's own.
