I think I heard somewhere that there'll be more layoffs for sure before the end of the month - which pretty much mean this week. Has anybody heard anything?
I feel like we've entered a stage where layoffs at BNYM went from being an occasional to yearly to now monthly thing. If it continues like this, we'll be having weekly layoffs very soon.
It's better to get laid off than work here !

Same thing happened to a colleague in technology that got laid off in Feb ... they worked her butt off the prior week to finish something, knowing full well she'd be gone in a few days. Real low-life behavior.
Pretty certain my layoff is in the system for April since I can't see my availability on exactly May 1 when scheduling meetings in Outlook.
The cruel thing is my manager very recently assigned me a large project with a tight timeline. My manager is about to lay me off and has me put in all of the upfront work before they let me go.
Even knowing this, I put in additional hours last week after work to create project materials because I feel customer service is our only differentiator when it comes to delivering against our competitors.
Hope the manager and company get the same level of dedication with the consultant that is coming onboard to be my replacement.
