Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Record Number of Senior Citizens Laid Off MACY'S SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

While Macy's may do some good things, they really started out 2019, naming it the year to rid it's payroll of longtime employees and senior citizens . The technology group, technicians have been out sourced to a company that provides lack luster service, pay and benefits. The Field Services Group under poor management and lack of vision managed to retain their positions for a short period of time. Shocking that a company like Macy's would allow this to happen..

The Exhibit A sheet for the MCCS layoff in August shows 140 layoffs across all three centers. The age breakdown shows most people are in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. Only a smattering of people in their 20s and 30s were let go, mostly at West. A good number of supervisors at South were let go, the remaining ones no longer had a staff and were put on escalation lead calls all day and the managers now had to handle all the coaching for all the regular staff on the floor. Lots of other leads were sent to a temporary HR type area for 90 days before possible layoff to help with with the overflow of associate calls about benefits which began after HR was gutted the early part of the year. Maybe replacing HR and scheduling with Aspect software didn't work out so well.

It's not just MST, or senior leadership in NY and OH, or losing VP titles, it's also stores even though the company doesn't announce the closings anymore. Our store was just told today that we will be closing, this is the third store this year in our district. The retail apocalypse is having it's impact on Macy's too, we just aren't doing press releases like the other companies. Lucky for us that so few people want to work at Macy's anymore since we ask so much of our employees, we were told we could take jobs at nearby stores if we wanted them, though most people want whatever severance we will get and to call it a day.

Macys does not value their associates.

Long service associates let go and over 50

age group.

So sad this is what this company has become.
