Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

What's going on at IDC Hyderabad?

How many people are laid off at IDC Hyderabad until now?

  • Campus, Ananth and Salarpuria buildings

Are the layoffs going to continue for some time? If so, until when?

Is there any criteria? Are the low paid top performers targeted as well?

I heard that certain teams got removed completely. What kind of teams are chosen for this?

Already, there have been no hikes this year in IDC and our packages are so low compared to the market. It's so unfortunate. But on top of it, the current layoffs are so devastating. It's like there's no mercy on us.

But then, a doubt arises whether the employees who remain alive after the slaughter will be treated with salary correction as per the market. First of all, will we survive to see this day? Even if we survive, is it a dream that can never come true?

There is no news in our team as of now, but the suspense is so unnerving and scary.

Fingers crossed.

We are scared of what's going to come. It would be very helpful if any HR or a high level manager can comment anonymously with some little information as a heads up.

It would help us be better prepared for the unfortunate future.

Huge layoff nobody using cloud all deals are just seeded to customer forcefully on threats of lms, customer who wants to use unfortunately so many bugs makes using cloud at large scale impossible, other major issue is support org behaving like govt no one cares of customer, org is sales centric, no support no capacity to use cloud no skills to implementecloud, sooner cloud is sinking ship at oracle, management is self boasting mode trying so showcase successful cloud adoption, which is fake....

Somebody has posted in another thread that hikes have started in IDC. Is this true?

Have the layoffs completed?

You have spoken my mind, my dear friend.

There are no hikes. There's only slaughter. Oracle has lot of money but doesn't care for its employees.

I prefer being slaughtered so that I atleast get the severance package. I don't think there's any hope if I am spared. I would just remain a low paid employee and there has been no use getting a good performance rating in Oracle. It didn't earn me any better food.

Thanks @YgnvDmg-1rss for bringing up this point.

Can an employee voluntarily choose to be a part of the layoffs?

Severance package is a much better alternative to the 'never going to happen' pay hikes.

If the employee wish to be part of this RIF and wants severance package, will HR consider it?

Get out of comfort zone mate. I had to do the same and left Oracle in January 2019 after spending 5 years.

Most people will find their skills in strong demand after a layoff, and eventually find something new and better. Hang in there and stay positive. It's not the end of the world.

You sound like a junior employee. Let it be a lesson: it is all business. Nobody in Oracle leadership cares about you.

You should change your victim's mentality.

Why don't you simply escape from the slaughterhouse?

It's not too late.
