Imagine the alternative where GM spent that much money every year on engineering better vehicles

The problem with AVs isn't even the practicality of using them. It's the profit side of the equation.

GM is spending 2 BILLION DOLLARS EVERY YEAR on autonomous vehicles without a single dime to show for it. How do you make that money back, even if these are ready for prime time 5-10 years from now? AV will need to be much more expensive than normal vehicles in order to get that money back, OR... the vehicle that the AV tech is sitting in is going to be as cheap as can be. We may well have autonomous Yugos in our future.

Mass layoffs to pay for golf carts ! Our roads are garbage and we have no infrastructure for all electric cars. How will a cross country trip work ? I have to wait hours for a f---ing battery to charge

She wants to focus our attention on diversity when that isn't even an issue. It's all BS so she can continue to rob the company and destroy it from the inside out , it's all a diversion , nobody is knocking new tech it's wonderful but the truth is the majority of people just aren't interested , it will take along time for an all electric future if at all , the worst CEO in GM history next to Smith. Fire her Immediately she is bad for business , unethical and toxic. She is sinking GM. The focus should be allowing engineering and design to do their job , down size management and the finance people because the core business is engineering and our product. Start there.
