Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Sales Have Dropped!

Store sales are dropping. Comp is down, Average Ticket is down, Customer Count is down.

These are facts, the vital stats don’t lie. Marvin’s cuts and copying Depot isn’t working.

Ellison at the direction of the controlling Hedge Fund share holders on the Board of Directers has taken Lowe’s from Good to Garbage!

Word of mouth from 300k employees has gotten around. The word is out people, Lowe’s is tanking.

I was just talking about how slow it's been recently with my other coworkers. It may be due to the weather, but the weather here in Pa has been pretty decent. Not many people in the garden center buying and we have a ton of mulch and soils overflowing into the parking lot. To me at least, i don't think this season is going to be as busy. But hey, maybe it'll pickup soon.

THere are numerous reasons for slow downs including smaller tax returns, the economy is slowing(housing market new sales are dropping) This doesn't include self-inflicted wounds that Lowe's will have to bear due to bad investments and reverse the toxic environment which includes vetting corporate, region, distric, etc.. I'm no longer with the company and it may have been the most healthiest decision of my life. Leave the doom and gloom people its a beautiful world out there awaiting positive vibes. Also Lowes system of promotions by people who are liked instead of qualified have underminded its operational integrity. Most companies at least test for literacy of how their positions/roles matter to overall performance of store/company. Good Luck to reverse that mindset.

“The real tell will be when the weather breaks. Overall sales are down but too early to say what it is, my guess is weather and some consumer apprehension with the economy.”

Lol consumer apprehension. I know more people

That worked retail that have moved on to good paying jobs in other fields, are making much more money and buying cars, houses, vacations then I’ve ever seen before. The Dow is up almost 14 percent for the year, people have more money. Costco and Best Buy were packed today a Thursday.

Visiting Florida. Stopped in Lowes. Dead as a door nail. Weather has broken here for sure. But, to be fair, Sears and Kmart were dead too.

If your stores are down then you are not executing like you're supposed to be. Our market is way up to sales and NBT except for one store. I assure you he will close your stores if they are not performing to standards. Obviously it is working for us so maybe instead of speaking down about someone finally trying to make a change maybe you should get on board and give it a shot. Or else you will be displaced like the rest of them.

It's early,.. I would predict by the second quarter earnings call, we will be out earning depot per share. But hey if you don't like it here make like a tree....

I’m an ASM in Ohio. Our stats are down as well, including NBT. Not a good situation. District and regional are worried to say the least. Truth is they can’t pinpoint why. I think the store closures and then cutting PSI. You never used to have customers ask if Lowe’s was in financial trouble. They do now.
