Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

No pension for new employees?

Is this true? New hires only get 401k? When did this happen?

I haven't been with Verizon for a while, but I didn't know things have changed that much...

The Union embraced a "Eat the young" mentality in 2011, no pensions for new hires.

I hope this bites Union leadership in the a--, preferably when they are retirees and the folks left to pick up the pieces are running the show.

What goes around will come around.

Not sure about union folks but Verizon stopped offering pensions to management around 2006. Sad you are just figuring that out now.

In other very current news - I hear the Y2K bug may be a problem, We'd better prepare for it!

Honestly why do you care if it doesn’t effect you? Many companies have done away with Pensions. This site is only for people to complain I guess.
