I'm not sure when this happened but for the past 39 years I have been counting on a grant of several hundred acres somewhere around Oklahoma where I could put down roots and manage my ranch. Now i'm told that's not a guarantee of employment at VZ?!

@lmp. The people in Oklahoma are not Indian They are Native American.
The only guarantee is that your job is replaced by an Indian with a heavy accent
Who in their right mind would live in Oklahoma? If you are hellbent on living there and are a retiring repair tech you should have plenty with your K-plan, cash balance, savings home equity etc. to go and buy a sizable spread there. I know of several who have bought sizable threads in WV, VA, Upstate NY and NC. There are many better places to go than OK.
