Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

The workload is enormous after the layoffs

Never thought I’d wish for new hires or even that some work gets outsourced, but apparently with this quantity of work that is left after the layoffs , it’s impossible to get anything done within the deadlines. Can’t see us maintaining this tempo of work much longer. Does anyone feel the same way?

5jgb-exactly what happened to me with zero explanation or proof that I was BE and deserved that ranking. This is deplorable what they are doing to people!

Totally agree, but when they force rank you to BE there is no incentive to kill yourself if their dumping work on you. Cant rank you any lower. Just document what their doing to you to cover yourself.

ykt is absolutely right. Some are overwhelmed daily and others are bored to tears.

This is a prime example of how the entire management team is to blame. I don't like Chuck, but you think he knows there are employees with little work to do?

Every manager knows if their staff dwindles to low that they risk being cut. So they keep their mouth shut about paying people to do next to nothing.

Some act as if they are doing you a favor but it is all about self preservation at the expense to both the company and the employee rotting away.

I have some sympathy for new managers that were tossed into the deep end, but none for the rest of you that come on here and whine how you have it bad also. If you have been a manager for at least a year, you are part of the problem.

Me, I will keep collecting a check until they finally put me out of my misery and lay me off. Companies are not hiring the countries fastest growing minority. Middle age white males need not apply!

This is also an example of their disastrous reorganization. Some have too much work, other not enough, experienced people let go, remaining people trying to do work they don’t know. What a mess.

Maybe “too much work” is job security. Be careful what you wish for... our business unit has almost no work at all, and we are wondering how long THAT can last.

That's what the goal is of this loser company. They realized they can't just keep laying people off and giving out packages. What's the next best thing for them to do? Overwork whoever is still there with the hope they quit. More people are gone that way and it is cost effective (doesn't cost them a cent when someone quits). They don't care about deadlines or quality of work at all anymore. Their focus is on downsizing however they can. BNY Mellon and Charlie boy should just disappear.
