Goldman Sachs Investor Visit-Should We Be Concerned

Investors from Goldman Sachs are visiting our store. Should we be worried that this is a fore runner of employment cutbacks and/or this store location closing?

The Reliability system is causing anger, frustration and conversations about attorneys and lawsuits.

That location recently had the yearly ritual of the rotation of managers. They replaced a manager with years of experience and a good rapport with his team, with a relative newbie who isn't clear on how the registers operate, and who likes to play mind games with subordinates. The newbie also wants colleagues to send texts on work related issues, when the colleagues are not at work. This clearly violates the labor laws.

Perhaps this is more of Macy's Magic.

Upper mgnt are making visits everywhere and often. We have several major visits in Ohio this spring. All related to growth 50 / 100, store configurations , Backstage etc.

If Goldman Sachs wants to see how Jeff and Hal's programs are working out, then they should come see stores during the holidays when we are trying to make the Path to Growth and keep up with the crazy number of fulfillment orders. We didn't know if we were coming or going, some customer orders sat in our store for over three weeks. If online orders are the future of growth, someone better figure it out this year as last years program should have been called the F-600 Omni initiative.

Plus Jeff was in town this week. Nothing out of the ordinary. Company responsible for reporting on Macy’s visits to evaluate. Just like mentioned below.

An investor visit is unlikely to be related to selling or closing your store. Investor visits typically with GS are so that analyst's can see examples of Macy's initiatives to better understand how relevant and effective Jeff and Hal's strategies like Growth Doors (G50, G100), Neighborhood Stores (N100), Backstage SWS are in the real world. The reason your managers are acting weird is there is a lot of pressure for these kind of visits as the feedback from GS representatives can effect stock recommendations, company valuations, and reflect directly on senior leaders vision for the future.

The store location is in Atlanta Georgia. All of the managers are behaving stranger than usual.
