Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Worst Management

Here recently they fired a guy from our team without reason. He used to work more than other employees. It is just because he argued with manager to share his ideas. Manager does not want to listen to anyone's ideas as he is rude. So one fine morning by naming it termination they collected his laptop. Now manager is not able to manage work and loading work on existing team members. God knows when these things will end in Oracle. Manager comes to office , always pidgin status is online but he will not be in his seat.Either in canteen or playing table tennis. As a team member we cannot complain it to anyone because he is having good relationship with his manager. Its all about politics which is winning over hear and terminating good employees. If we try to complain such things, we will be in next termination queue....

There was a really great guy in our area, then one day he was gone. I think manager was messing with him and he left.

I spoke to the manager later after I found out the guy had left. I said that this was a terrible thing to lose this person. His response was that it didn't matter, there is another guy and he is "good enough".

Poor attitude in the management. Good people being harassed and leaving.

yes, he brought more revenue not playing but actually working during work hours.... we can replace managers but they cannot replace us.... so they fire good employees...

Ok, so we know he argued with his boss. Did he bring enough money in from customers to justify his salary?

Typical 3 stooges stuff - it’s 100% about loyalty and 0% about competence - that’s why oracle is a sinking ship. Starts with LE and as they say sh-- flows downwards

If he is fired without committing an act of gross misconduct then he will have been paid off and probably signed and NDA to leave. He probably isn't losing any sleep over it because he would have got a reasonable package to compensate him.

In Oracle management are just people oriented and very few has required skills. Their lack of skills, unable leading team transparently. Managers are like cancer eating company future. First management layer need to repair and keep good leaders instaed of just managers.

This is not going to change, The total management is like this, No one wants good engineers. Because they are getting there Hike/Stock option every year with out miss.

If engineers the managers/management, He is in the hit list ( All the Good engineers are Already gone Already).

They want to create followers. In each time they will have they're own engineers. Who shares what the other engineers are doing. For providing such information engineers. get rewarded with Spot awards/Trining/Stocks/With rating 5.

This post is very true. Unless current stooges are shown door, and mgmt model change, Oracle is bound to go down the drain. Managers fire with impunity, with no accountability. Transparency is absolute nill here.

This is exactly the reason why Oracle is going down the tubes. Management is corrupt and not held accountable by the management above them. The better people are under attack in engineering by the management that should want those people around.

This is not going to change. I'm glad I left a while back. You should leave also.

Let the rats go down with the ship if they are too stupid to value the people who actually do the work.
