What really irks me is all the higher ups (DL, LP/AP, Regional Director, AVP, etc.) who come in to our stores and do nothing but crab at us and bark orders, but don’t lift a finger to help, as if actual work is beneath them! And people wonder why things are so bad at this company...

To the previous poster... what’s worse than the situation you just described, is the DL who allows this to go on under his or her watch!
Work until 10 tonite have truck at 345 in the morning....impossible to hire right now as I'm down 3 employees....guess who's doing the turnaround??I just keep saying atleast I'm getting paid to look for another job!!
A true leader isn’t afraid to get their “hands dirty” no matter what there title is!
That’s because most corporate employees have never worked a day in a store in their life, and have no idea how things get done, so it’s easy for them to bark orders like a general.
There is a difference between a boss and a leader. A boss orders people around, and a leader leads by example! Most corporate people are bosses, not leaders.
OP here. To clarify I am NOT saying that we need anyone to do our job. We work hard! And we do our job well! But the previous poster hit the nail right on the head! Most higher ups have NO idea what it takes to do our jobs, and couldn’t do it themselves, but have no qualms about barking out orders like it’s nothing, with no real expectations of how things actually get done!
I don't expect my boss to do my job. HOWEVER, I expect them to understand what it takes to do my job. It's unbelievable how many do not
Everyone has a job to do. I would be embarrassed if my boss or her boss had to do my job.
It to expect them to says something about the current workforce I guess.
That’s every company for ya
