So why was the PTC's that chose to stay not able to keep their pay? So not fair considering others were able to keep theirs

How many things does this company do that's fair? When they did the 2% pay raise for everyone, was that fair? You get 2% whether you work your butt off or if you do nothing-is there a reason to want to do your best? That CUT my raises by more than half. The employees that do the most do not get recognized for the good job they do--they are just expected to keep doing more and get s*** on the most. New hires are making almost as much as me and I have been with the company for YEARS!
There are no more 'pay adjustments'. It changed in 2018. You now go up or down according to the pay level of the job. If you go down one level and loose 5% and six months later go back up, you only go to what you were making---not a 10% increase. This is in effect for a year from any position movements. Read the Pay Plan.
An associate who stayed with the company after the position was eliminated will keep his/her pay despite possible level changes EXCEPT when his or her pay was above the maximum pay grade of the lower level. So, if for example, a PTC who was making $24 per hour stayed but in the position of MSS, he or she would remain the same unless that would make him or her above the max of the "B" pay grade for that facility. Otherwise, he or she would then be at the max pay grade for that level at that facility. And, this would require some additional work from the managers as this would not be a standard pay adjustment.
Did anyone else hear the announcement this last Wednesday??? Sam's Club is now bringing in a 3rd party to do all hirings and Orientations....So, IF you are a PTC who stayed, GOOD LUCK to you.
Sounds like a Workday issue. If the PTC accepts a position in a lower paygrade Career Preference adjusts accordingly. What needs to happen is the supervisor of the new position needs to submit to Workday a Pay adjustment through ME and include a statement that the new position is to not have any adverse actions towards the associate's pay.
Who in there right might would keep a job when their emplyoyer said "we're gonna cut your pay". WTF is wrong with you people?
The "keeping same pay" was a loop hole of sorts when audit was eliminated. The information was always there in the pay plan on the wire. It was just little known by most associates. Someone figured it out in our region. You had to contact HO personnel and have pay put back to $$ associate was at before job code was eliminated. The info spread like wild fire and many people got to keep their audit team rate of pay in addition to getting back pay. Regions that didnt find the policy missed out. It was removed as of 2018 pay plan and no longer an option.
I love someone telling me that's not true they didn't cut the pay. Really should I bring out my paystubs to show where I lost $1.25 per hour when they cut audit.
I took a pay cut when my position was eliminated I was in Connections
The change was in the Pay Plan- 2018
I was a receiving clerk and lost my pay. Overnight associates got to keep their differential, even though they are no longer overnight. It's not fair.
If your job was restructured you kept your same pay, eliminated you didn't keep your pay.
Until the policy changed, which was a few months before they announced the receiving/invoice/claims job eliminations, you were able to keep your same rate of pay. Unfortunately, a lot of associates&managers were not aware of this. I know for certain of former audit team and accounting associates that took a lesser level position and kept the same pay.
I was audit also. I had to take a pay decrease. Then I found another job that didn't jerk me around.
I was audit and I took a pay reduction. We were the first positions eliminated.
@svb that’s not true. Previous eliminated positions got to keep their same rate of pay, it’s always been in the pay plan until this past year.
The other positions that have been cut did not keep their pay unless they went to a position that was the same level. If you went to a lower level position you lost money.
The company changed their pay plan in July and that’s when they took out the clause that if your position is eliminated you get to keep your pay. It’s a slap in the face.
