Communicating about a class action on Age/Disability discrimination - how?

Saw several posts over the past couple of months about a class action. Just saw another statement about it. I'm certainly interested in joining, and in my case, I feel disability was part of the equation as well. As a matter of fact, I've been putting together a letter to the Board about this.

Question ... what possible way can the people such as myself who are genuinely interested in this communicate in some private manner so we can actually undertake such an effort? My package runs out later in April so after that I wouldn't be as reluctant to share something like an email address in this forum but at some point actual names have to be exchanged in some manner.

Any thoughts?

is it possible to set up a facebook group in some anonymous way so we can share names in it only within a private group?

They give the ages but not the names.

yes to all that, i know that ... what I'm saying is since some people put out the idea of a class action, how can we all safely communicate?

4foe you do know that you have to file a compliant with the EEOC.

Didn't they give you all the names and ages of those given the severence?

how can we safely share our actual email/names safely so we can communicate only with people who are serious about this?

Is it really NOT common sense to consult an attorney for this type of situation instead of seeking opinions from disgruntled (rightfully) current and former employees?

1oly, not in all cases. Everyone should really check their unique situation to what the EEOC says.

my reading of the sub agreement is this ... you can't be stopped for filing a EEOC grievance, but technically you would forfeit any money such complaint might yield you in terms of a monetary award. Whether they would do that is another story. Anyway, it is DEFINITELY my intention to try.

In the US, Federal law is what governs discrimination. States can add, NYC has the most protections. Also, Google IBM lawsuit that was filed last week, might help guide you.

It's not a severance package.

Each state the former employee resides in and was hired in has different rules for Discrimination cases.

One should contact their Commission Against Discrimination in the State they reside in.

I would imagine that if you took some sort of severance package upon your dismissal, that you signed off that you would not take part in any such class action suits. Leaving you with no recourse at this point. I somehow doubt they would give you severance and leave the door open to be sued.
