Are VSP folks allowed to apply, or has anyone tried and been approved?

I had to fight mine in MO. Five other VSPs here had no issue. Had a hearing (verizon never showed) my statement was that the reorganization caused significant downsizing, my position was thus eliminated and Verizon never offered me the option for a new position. They tried to do this to avoid paying 10,400 people unemployment but many state laws sniffed this out and found it was not legal for them to deny unemployment due to VSP.

I collected for several months in 2016.

In the other NJ unemployment thread, someone said they were interviewed and then reinstated. What is the reason for collecting, is it because you feel if you didn't leave, your job would be eliminated? What if you were one of the ones who's position was replaced?

BSP....Bell System Practices. It was our how to manuals. Not that autocorrect would know that.

VSP not BSP...damn autocorrect. Why would it even change it to BSP? I mean, what the hell is a BSP? This is DOPE!

BSP was voluntary, so you shouldn’t be allowed unemployment. You left, you didn’t get fired. Just saying.

Collected for a couple of months then denied. Hired a Lawyer, others have had success and have been reinstated.
