Has anyone who was laid off been able to negotiate a better package? Did you have to threaten legal action?

There are employment attorneys who specialize in this kind of negotiation. I would recommend you have one in your back pocket ready just in case. I do! Although the packages seem fair so far... In case they try that BS again about remote working arrangements, I'd be lawyered up!
Frankly the sub that I got wasn’t bad, better than expected. Glad I got laid off.
If you don’t like it, you don’t have to take it. Negotiation done.
