I went to interview with a big investment bank. they told me we are not interested in your BNY work experience , tell us about what work you did at your previous employer ( another investment bank ) . For 5 seconds I was just shocked. This is the true value/reputation of BNY on the street ! It's a resume spoiler :{

Don’t work in the audit department too. Management in the audit department are a bunch of losers and id–ts and have no clue about auditing!
The quality of employees hired from trash companies says a lot.. and leaves a lot to be desired..

No prospective employer wants to hear us diss our prior employer(s). Just say “did great work there” and leave the reality behind. It’s a new life.
Everyone knows BNY is not an investment bank , they ain't have the balls of steel to be one .. they are better off in custody business so to say.. nobody is happy here !
Not the biggest fan of BK but it’s aññ about your ability to interview and knowing your stuff. That said, BNY Mellon is not an investment bank...
I'm in technology and have applied to multiple positions in other companies recently. The other banks didn't even bother to send rejection emails and completely ignored my applications. The only companies that I made it to interview with are pure tech or non-banking companies which aren't familiar with BNYM.
