Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Q1 iGEN and inkjet sales in the c-apper?

Q1 iGEN and inkjet sales in the c-apper? They’re never strong in q1 but some say we were really short. More layoffs in sales and mgt here? Or will we get a pass from John and Mikey?

How about Xerox recycling 20 year old BLASS feed-heads into the Altalink B. Techs like spending an hour to change feed rolls. And that's if we have space to break the machine down to the frame to change them.

Techs are charged with first time fixing machines. Our inventory skus could be 5% of current level if we just made common reliable parts across models. (And save on the part cost through scaling). There is no reason why A3 color/mono need different feedheads/ADFS/Scanners/trays/etc . Or we need 20 different r----d pads/ADF feed rolls with a slightly different shape to support 20 different A4 printers.

I wouldn’t advise any client right now to make more than a one year commitment to a Xerox contract.

There is absolutely no reason for a client to “hope for the best” with Icahn.

Parts and supplies are also a major issue. Service continuity is a concern.

I don’t see how this would be any different for an iGen or an office multifunction device. It matters more what that asset means to the business and can you afford to not have it properly supported.

I had to leave Xerox sales. It was no longer about the customer. Everything I saw flew in the face of everything I knew what successful business do. So I left. Couldn’t be happier.

iGen is 20 year old technology, first developed in the late 90’s. Some components were borrowed from much older mono technology. - Senior direction is to lead with iGen, regardless of what the client application is. I’ve been on call after call with Sean Hickey listening to him rip good sales reps to shreds because they recommended a Versant because it is the right fit. The iGen, under Sean’s leadership, has put more SMB commercial printers out of business than any other device. Sean’s self serving behavior is destructive for reps trying to do the right thing and downright criminal for what it does to many clients. Someone should look into oversold public sector clients and blow the whistle.

Google "Indigo vs Igen" to see what the print shops are saying.
