Most of the targeted were from HYd rather than Chennai...and they were given D and force fully kept in PIP...this is another way of sending employees.. Very ruthless...many of them targeted were 10+ years ....does the company think about employees families....if you want to layoffs go ahead and give some min package so that they can survive...

Morale will improve
Finally now you know how those in USA have felt for years ... Welcome to our world.
As far as I know..it was a mandatory 10% target given under each manager..to give D...but the irony is managers gave D to whom they don't have good view..no question of performance here....yes Chennai politics are high from last 3 years after Santosh left...
Phase 1: Outsource to cheap labor countries.
Phase 2: Automate outsourced work
Welcome to phase 2. The shareholders are grateful for the Indian slave labor to get the stock over that $55 hump. Now its goodbye time.
I'm hearing a lot now adays about Chennai politics..
Morale of the team is very very down.. after hearing D rated people are targeted and harassed in PIP.
One of my friend also got D. But he is very talented and have all certifications.. when I asked him ..looks like.. Chennai politics..Chennai manager gave him ...and that manager is biased..heard that he is targeting Hyderabad employees..
D as in dirty??? U need clean feet to work at Verizon.
All VZ India should get the D!
Is not rif.
Not sure why you think 220 D rated employees is high. That's about 4% of the Vz India population. The standard bell curve across the company for D ratings is +/- 5 %. And no, Vz does not think of families. We are all just numbers on an xls to the finance guys. The higher your price tag, the bigger your target. No idea what the country rules are around severance, but there must be a reason intl employees don't get it.
May be it's apart of cost cutting where the variable pay and merit pay will be saved...
Bad approach...
