Lowe’s Cos. Inc. is moving 600 employees to its Mooresville headquarters in the first of a two-part shift that the home-improvement retail company announced on Thursday.
The second part involves cutting 200 jobs from its Charlotte shipping facility. Those employees are currently being informed on what jobs are available elsewhere in Lowe’s, says Dan Frahm, the company's vice president of communications and community relations.
The employee shift to Mooresville from its operations in Wilkesboro will take place over the course of this year, with the first jobs relocating in June.
“This will bring teams that perform similar functions together, supporting greater collaboration and business performance,” Frahm says.
The current 600 employees in Wilkesboro work in “corporate function” jobs. They'll join the Mooresville headquarters, where Lowe’s (NYSE: LOW) currently has 3,800 employees.
Another 80 employees in Wilkesboro will be shifted to Winston-Salem, Frahm says.
