The voluntary packages are reverse age discrimination. PNR knows this and is prepared for backlash. They have to offer it to everyone regardless of age or they are breaking the law. If you are under 55 in LCO or 62 in Midland, you are entitled to the full package no matter what HR says to you.

1) they will offer severance for the involuntary layoffs but you get an amazing package for taking the voluntary.
2) simple math shows they are going to be paying out an estimated 100 million to volunteers... if they did the same package for everyone there wouldn't be a company left.
They are telling the news they extended generous offers to their employees including those close to retirement. They are ONLY extending voluntary separation packages to those 55+. They should report the truth. Let’s get on with the involuntary packages so we can move on.
